Joanne Best's Art Gallery
I'm a native Vermonter and have lived all my life in the Green Mountains. My family of seven is grown now, leaving time to create art and writing. I love the outdoors and nature. My husband gives me needed support and makes natural wood frames for my paintings.

Information About Joanne Best
I am a self-taught Vermont artist who paints the world as I see it in bright vivid colors.
My home in the Green Mountain forest enables me to have a close relationship with nature.
Vermont farm scenes and the mountains of my mother's people are a favorite subject to paint.
I am inspired to paint western scenes as my dad was a Wyoming cowboy and I have made many trips exploring there.
Portraiture interests me as I have a natural curiosity about people's faces and expressions.
I welcome any opportunity to paint faces, working from photographs that I take myself or ones sent to me. I strive to find out as much as possible about my subject to aid my perception of their personality for depicting on canvas.
My attitude is a humble one. I believe life is my art teacher, therefore; I will be in a learning stage forever.
