Artists FAQ

Why should I choose Original Art Online to market my artwork?

Our business is wholly dedicated to connecting artists with people who want to buy original art. Our goal is to enable artists to sell original art to buyers all over the world.

To accomplish this goal, we employ a number of success-oriented marketing strategies. Foremost among these is a technique called SEO, or search engine optimization.

SEO works in the following manner: A buyer will type specific keywords or phrases into the search field at a particular search engine site. Search engine spiders recognize these terms and present the buyer with a list of sites that match these keywords. The sites are ranked according to specific algorithms used by each particular search engine.

The key to maintaining high search engine visibility is satisfying the criteria these algorithms use to determine the relevance of a particular web page. Search engines are constantly making changes- altering criteria and refining their approach to keep pace with the explosive growth of the industry. A company MUST be able to adapt its SEO to a climate of constant flux in order to meet its goals.

Any successful site will use search engine optimization. What distinguishes us from the competition is our unique approach. We are on the leading edge of this constantly changing market environment.

1. We have access to the best information available.
2. We use this information in the most effective way possible to guarantee optimal results for our clients and ourselves.
3. We have the most capable staff anywhere.

One of the ways we ensure a high ranking is by making use of art-specific keywords on our front page. This must be done carefully. To use one example, a search engine will often determine the relevance of a particular page according to the density of key words or phrases found on that page. If, however, a search engine detects what it thinks is an incongruously high density of keywords, it may assume the page is spam and ignore the page completely. Any search engine will make changes in its criteria at any given time, so in order to be successful we must take a carefully considered, balanced approach. Positioning our site at the number-one slot in any search engine results requires two things:

1. Constant monitoring of the major search engines for any changes in their criteria.
2. The judicious implementation of this information for the best possible results.

Buyers FAQ

What makes Original Art Online better than any other online art gallery?

We can reach more people all over the world than any other online art gallery. We can make this claim because we are the best at what we do. We specialize in marketing original art using the world wide web. We are serious about marketing. Connecting buyers to artists is our passion.

Search engine optimization is just one of our areas of expertise. Prospective clients will find this particularly interesting because of the breadth of its scope and the magnitude of its power. For example, when an artist types "sell art" into a search window, Original Art Online comes up #1 every time. Our site has more visibility than any other art site on the net. Accordingly, we are positioned to attract the most artists and compile the largest inventory of original art available anywhere.

Furthermore, Original Art Online charges no commission and no fees whatsoever. Our role at this time is to help artists advertise their work. Once this is done, we concentrate on the continuing optimization of the site, leaving the terms of sale completely up to the discretion of the buyer and seller. The artist handles the advertising expense, if applicable. Should any concerns arise, our staff of experts is just an email away.

How is the sale conducted?

Prospective buyers are encouraged to browse our gallery. If you find artwork you would like to buy, simply email an offer to the artist.

Does Original Art Online accept PayPal or other secure forms of payment?

We do not insist that you use PayPal. However, many people have had success with this type of secure transaction. PayPal is the preferred method of payment transfer of Ebay and other large auction sites.

Will I be held responsible for any charges above and beyond the price of the artwork itself?

We exist to foster a community wherein artists and buyers meet to buy and sell art. In the spirit of this, we charge no fees to the buyer. Marketing expenses are paid by the artist. The only other cost incurred is the actual price of the art itself.

Who should I contact if I have any other questions?

For questions about an artist or artwork, please contact the artist directly.
