Le Guerre by Felix Cato
This painting is based on the dark time in Italian history during the Italian Wars in the 14th century. Shortly after the Renaissance, Italy’s decline into a state on incessant warfare was a tragic transition for a large part of Europe. Much of the Italian artistic world never lived to continue the beauty of the Renaissance that previous generations got to experience, and this piece is meant to capture the emotion during this time in the 1500s.
The painting is signed on the back, Felix Cato.
